Hector T. Farmer Thanx for releasing "I Will" at last - I loved it at once when I first listened to it on YouTube a year ago... Favorite track: I will.

amundlistening This album was long called for. Jay takes many skills to a high level, in a very inspiring way.

It's so nice to be able to consume this analogue synth, vocal, writer, composer genius without using YouTube.

I keep getting taken aback by what is possible and how well sound and lyrics come together in this magical album. Favorite track: I will.

about

The anecdote in "Wolf" is real: I really did see a wolf at the break of day, standing forty feet from the cabin where I had been sleeping. It lowered its head but kept its eyes firmly on me, and then turned, glided, and disappeared into the woods. It was a moment that made me question what I was doing with my time; it made me question what it means to live, to be alive, and how to be grateful for this life, how to not squander it. This theme permeates every song on the Strays EP.

This is a collection of vocal works, more traditional "songs" than my other music. It's still entirely live and composed with hardware synthesizers, grooveboxes, drum machines, effects, etc. (and a piano and acoustic guitar). But the simple addition of vocals adds a very different character to my usual approach to live hardware music; it's one more way to shape the emotional tenor of the song. It forces me to reckon with the idea of being a person, not just a collection of musical sounds. I hope that comes through in every track.

Thanks for listening.
